Imagining what could have happened for Juliet if she hadn't gone endgame with Romeo and instead headed out into the world with her besties, &Juliet is a refreshing modern musical that's been hitting our top seller lists this month, making it the 2024/25 Broadway Season's most in-demand show. What if?

A coming-of-age musical, &Juliet begins with a conversation between William Shakespeare and his wife Anne Hathaway (not that one). What if, she asks, Juliet didn't have to die with Romeo? What if the play wasn't a tragedy, just merely the beginning? 

From Manchester to the world

With a score of Swedish pop songwriter Max Martin's biggest hits and a book by David West Read, &Juliet had its world premiere in Manchester, England at the city's Opera House back in September 2019. The show's unabashed vibrance made it an immediate hit with the critics!

"Underneath the pop tunes, sparkles and attitude lay a show that celebrates queer joy, friendship and love - in all its forms...This is a show which plays with old fashioned love-story tropes, and encourages the audience and cast to delight in its camp and uplifting message of loving yourself first."  - Manchester Evening News

A London engagement followed in November 2019, gaining more critical acclaim and nine Olivier Award nominations (winning three). North America called soon after with a pre-Broadway engagement set in Toronto for February 2021, which was later rescheduled to June 2022. Thankfully the break for the pandemic didn't hurt its chances and the show then opened on Broadway in October of that year. The rest, as they say, is history!

In addition to the bumper US tour, there have also been productions in Australia, Singapore, and Germany, with one tentatively planned for Japan.
